Cattle Consulting, LLC
About

I am Micayla Maloney, your ruminant nutritionist and consultant. I grew up in Southeastern Wyoming on a cattle ranch.
I graduated the University of Wyoming in 2017 with a Bachelor's in Animal Science and a minor in Range Management. I had the opportunity to be included in a full circle research project in the Range Manamgment department. The ranch I grew up on is the site of a long term sagebrush mitigation project that has now evolved to include range monitoring and precipitation predictions. I helped clip grass samples as a child and young adult, then as a student I analyzed the data that I once collected years prior, and now I get to still be a part of this great study.
In 2019-2021 I went to New Mexico State University to earn my Masters degree in Animal Science. During my time at NMSU, I worked on several projects in both the range science and animal science departments. My time in the range department included research involving grazing behavior and nutritional status of forage as well as GPS grazing data. My time in the animal science department included research involving vaccine strategies, maternal nutrition and fetal programing, and my own research studying glucose metabolism and body condition score and their relationship to spring calving cows.
